Jax is doing much better. He needed to have 2 teeth extracted because of the abscess. The swelling has gone down and I am so glad we started the antibiotics right away because I think it really made a difference. He was off school today but will be going to school tomorrow. He was a real trooper and I am very proud of him for being so brave at the dentist's office yesterday.
Other random thoughts. (Or maybe I am just complaining.)
When people say that being a stay at home mom or housewife is a full-time job, I totally agree. Taking care of the kids, the house and the responsibilities related to it are difficult. How do you do it when you have to do both? How do we do it?
As I got home today, and had the kids in my face all talking to me at the same time, trying to tell me everything that happened all day, how Jax threw Zoe's flash drive and its lost, how Zoe needs her white gi pants washed because she has a performance tomorrow, and how everyone was hungry, I wish I had a pause button. To them, I just got home, but of course they don't realize that I was at work- for 9 hours. At work, dealing with people, programs, and computer problems, and that maybe I needed 5 minutes before they unloaded their days on me. That's what parenthood is though. Get home, start a load of laundry, figure out dinner, remember that Zoe needs the permission slip signed for tomorrow, make sure Jax gets his antibiotic, feed the cat, put snacks in little baggies for tomorrow, get the box ready for donations tomorrow, one of the fish are sick, try and find the flash drive, talk to Amy about the menu for Zoe's party, print the labels for the invitations, call my dad because he asked about Jax, remind Andrew to bring his donations, make some tea because I would like some, study with Jax for science test, make sure uniforms are ready for tomorrow, disinfect everything in the house because Jon is super sick and was here all day, load the dishwasher, vacuumed the food that daisy spilled by her bowl, find the catering menu for the Filipino Grill, wonder how Zoe's laundry ended up on my bed, find time to stretch. Blah Blah Blah.
I am fortunate that I have help, but it really feels overwhelming at times. I'm sure you all know exactly what I am talking about though.
