A conversation I overheard as the kids were having lunch:
Jax: How did you get so smart, like at math and the spelling bee and stuff?
Zoe: I studied for my spelling.
Jax: You mean at home? You mean real homework or fake homework?
Zoe: Real, and I spell the words, and every day I studied some of the words on my list.
Jax: Oh.
