There is a reason why GIRLS won at the Golden Globes - its well written, well acted and well, real. I think many conversations between Hannah and her parents and with her girlfriends to many people will seem familiar, and if not, just really entertaining. (I think so, anyway.) I think we have all known people in our lives that were just like the characters, or wished we did. It may be a show that you love or hate.
The Carrie Diaries I read was a show not created for the Sex and the City crowd, but rather for the Twilight crown. I figured that since I was both, (That's right, I just admitted it!) that I would watch the first episode. Andrew was going out, so he couldn't make snarky comments, so I watched it - and I really liked it! It's interesting to see a young Carrie Bradshaw and her life as a teenager in Connecticut before I watched 6 seasons of her adult life. Annasophia Robb really is a great Carrie, and I think I definitely will watch the second episode! Why did I never know that Carrie had a younger sister?
Let's be real here. I have read articles that The Carrie Diaries was supposed to fill the void that SATC were feeling since the show ended. FALSE. I read that the script was not as sophisticated as SATC. DUH.
The show is on the CW, what were you guys expecting? The show was created for a younger audience, with a short attention span. You take it for what it is.
