I think most people will agree with the title of this post. When things are clean and organized, you feel better. You can find things when you need them, and aren't tripping on legos and such all the time- This, however, is difficult to accomplish when you have 2 young children, both which received millions of presents for Christmas. (Like they needed any more toys!) Which means, I have to make some room!
I decided that cleaning and organizing was necessary for my life improvement. So I decided to try and tackle one room at a time, instead of just trying to do it all at once. I started with the kitchen and bathroom first, then plan to head over to the kids room, then my room, then the living room and finally the dining room. Whew. I know it will be tough, because I am not the type of person that likes to throw anything away, but I am just going to have to suck it up and throw out what I really don't need anymore. I was hoping that this would get done by the new year, but looking at the calendar, it does not look like that is going to happen. Oh well, baby steps, right? Having a plan is a step in the right direction...

I couldn't agree with you more. My theme for the year besides, "New Year, New Improved Me" is SIMPLIFY.
The more I have in my home, the more chaotic it feels. When I started rearranging things around the house for Christmas, instead of packing the things away, I really evaluated what I 'needed' versus what was collecting dust and had just became a part of the landscape. Some things went out to donate and I kept the things that meant something to me.
It feels good knowing that when the Christmas decorations come down, my living room will be slightly less cluttered, perhaps a bit more organized and definitely less chaotic.
Take the baby steps, sometimes leaps can become overwhelming and force us to stand still.
