Weekend Recap

Saturday:

Mom, Dad and Tita Evie drove to our place so we could go to the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul in Philly in one car. Archbishop Chaput said a special mass at the Basilica just for scouts earning Parvuli Dei medals, and presented Jaxson with his! It was a beautiful church and I am so glad that Tita Evie could make it. Archbishop even blessed Tita Evie which was so wonderful.

After the mass, we headed over to The Franklin Institute to check out the Pompeii exhibit! First we stopped at the Franklin Food Works for some lunch, then headed to the exhibit. It was a really great exhibit- they incorporated movies and audio with the artifacts, making it a multimedia experience. They even had smoke machines, lights and wind in one of the movies showing the timeline of the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius! The last stop was the museum store, and the kids had fun in there of course.

We headed home and were pretty exhausted from the day. Tita Evie was such a trooper and she said she had a wonderful time. We pretty much vegged for the rest of the afternoon until we managed to get some dinner. My feet were hurting from wearing non-supportive shoes, but the Franklin Institute was a surprise trip, so I was not prepared!

Sunday:

Superbowl Sunday we had plans to go over Tree's house with all the other ladies for a party! (Last year it was at our place.) I was up early and started cleaning and doing laundry to catch up because I usually do that on Saturday. I was also trying to organize a mountain of papers that have been sitting on the table forever. I want to get really organized, and start spring cleaning early. I know that it is still a month away, but I'm already in the swing of things for Aileen's shower and have a box of items stored for the big party!

Insanely enough, we braved the grocery stores to get the desserts and firewood we needed. It was insane how busy it was!

We headed over to Tree's after Finding Neverland was on, (we got sucked in!) at around 6ish. We were bringing a giant beautiful fruit tart and a chocolate lover's torte. Yum! There was a ton on food and it was delish, like always. Jen, Andy and the girls came so it was even more fun! Andrew was the baby whisperer with Everly and Maddie, and I'm sure the moms were grateful for a bit of a break.
