Boston Trip! (Day 2)

We definitely slept in! Today was our shopping and Game Day!

We started our first full day in Boston at the Salty Pig, a place where I read had a great brunch.

I really loved the vibe there, from the decor, the way the kitchen was in full view, to the Journey blasting through the restaurant.

Andrew and I ordered the same thing, scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries with brioche toast, served with honey butter. Everything was really delicious!

After brunch, we walked around to do some shopping. First thing that caught my eye was the marimekko store, and I bought this beautiful tray:

After marimekko, we stopped at Marshalls (yes, I wrote Marshalls!) to buy a scarf because it was so windy and cold that I wanted to wrap something around my face! We walked around a bit more, but caved and got into a cab to head back to the hotel and relax for a bit before the game.

Giacomos is a  popular restaurant in Boston and is known for having lines that wrap around the block. We decided to go for an early dinner and get there exactly at 5 when they opened their doors. We were the first couple in! We ordered the Calamari and Mussels in scampi sauce, which I read on some food blogs were among their best items. Surprisingly, the calamari was a miss for me, but the mussels more than made up for the calamari! It was a nice dinner because we didn't want to be too full for the game. 

I think our original thought was that we would have some food at the game, but that never happened! I was still pretty full from Giacomo's, so I didn't feel like snacking. We had so much fun at the game, I can't even describe in words what it felt like to be there. I'll never forget it as long as I live.

We found a taxi and headed back. We got back to the room before 10, so we had enough time to order room service, LOL!We ordered the New England Clam Chowder, with bacon, chives and crostini, Cheddar sliders on brioche buns, and the garlic Parmesan french fries. We also ordered Vanilla and Chocolate Gelato but I don't think I took a photo. Ooops!
