The year of the Gerbil.

After a year of the kids asking for a hamster, I caved in and got 2 Gerbils. Baby Dazzle, (The darker one.) and Sweetie Cupcake. (She is the teeny one.) The kids love them. After I picked them up from school, Jax got a snack and just stared at them in their cage, and get so excited when Sweetie comes out, because she usually hides. He calls her sister and tells her to look, and then Sweetie hides. It's just so cute.

Petunia especially loves our new girls. (Deep down I want to believe that she wants to love them, but I know she just wants to eat them probably.) I will post snaps when I get home tonight.

I know that we have enough bodies to take care of, but these cuties are worth it! I decided to get Gerbils instead of hamsters because I read that Gerbils produce less waste and keep a cleaner cage, so that was a plus. Also they are friendly, and not easily startled, which is another plus with two young kids and a cat!

They also have a totally cool house, which is getting some upgrades this weekend! I got the Habitrail Ovo for Sweetie and Baby, and they love it! We also got the den to give them more room, and are getting another piece to make a play room for them!
